Dream Lake, Drum Lake

Characters featured:

Contributors: Ellen Million (Artist),

Story collections: All Northern Stories and Art, Landscapes & Setting,

In the north, the sky often shades towards a darker hue above, washing out nearer to the horizon. This is a typical mountainous lake in the north, with spindly spruce trees and an unspoiled reflection. It is a very deep lake, and some winters, it develops a very particular ice shell that is perfect for ice drumming, earning it the winter name of 'Drum Lake.' This phenomena, and the lake's alternate name, is a closely-guarded secret among the rangers, and is revealed to new rangers at a winter party when conditions are right.
