Holly H.Lots of great glimpses of Northern life in this one! I really appreciated all of it, so much of it was new-ish to me. (Though I’ve gotten hints here and there in other stories.) But I particularly appreciated the look at Fala as a character; this is my first time seeing her in a lead role. I was interested by the depiction of her as someone clinging to her mother perhaps a bit longer than she should be. It felt like a fairly natural thing, and yet also it made me wonder if it’s unusual for their culture for her to be that clingy, or not. (It was also neat to see Inama as a mother, as just a few stories ago I was seeing HER as a girl of 10 or so.)
