Comments on 'Meetings in the Dark'

Holly H.As I suspected! I also suspect that that would have gone badly for Diren if it had been anything BUT a tame snowy. (I don’t know enough yet about how handy he might be as a hunter or a fighter, but my assumption is that he’s not an expert.) More generally, I’m glad to be getting the impression that there’s a lot of shared language (leftover from the splitting of the shards, I expect), even if there’s been some drift, and the introduction of new accents can make it hard to understand each other at first. That certainly saves a LOT of time! I also continue to like seeing each side trying to understand the other’s way of life according to what they themselves are used to. (It’s also interesting that Matelkem knows that an empire is “hundreds” of cities. I’ll be interested to find out where he gets that knowledge!)
