Holly H.I love all of the details that make their journey palpable -- the growing roughness of the road, the smell of the dead plants, the feeling of the darkness, the faint light of the stars. You can really feel the sense of discovery and mystery that’s drawing them onward. (I had to laugh, though -- I guess if they do make a truly exceptional discovery, it might be enough for Tivikai to forgive them for ignoring a decision she was part of, leaving her behind, and setting off on this hare-brained mission, and perhaps, PERHAPS make her want to take Imain’s bead. But that is a really huge “if”. ;-) It seems far more likely to me that she will be VERY annoyed with them, which would hardly seem the way to woo a woman. Ah, the optimism of young men!)
