I've announced this enough other places that I'm sort of assuming everyone knows already, but I am taking several months of maternity leave, starting... well, pretty much any day now. My due date is less than a week off, and babies aren't often keen on coming the day they're told to; she could decide to show up today, or in several weeks.
I am disabling pretty much everything that involves me shipping orders for this time, and putting notification of significant delays on the things that will remain. The Torn World anthologies and coloring books will not be available through me during this time!
Contributors included in those publications may purchase copies of these at wholesale pricing and resell them personally - but this is your last chance to order them for a while! I am happy to put a link to your sales page up at our publication page if you'd like to sell copies while I'm out of commission. I would also suggest utilizing the Amazon listings - though Amazon's fees are a little steep, they are only on sales you actually make, and a general seller's account is free.
http://www.amazon.com/Torn-World-Snow-U ... 271&sr=8-1http://www.amazon.com/Family-Ties-Skies ... 313&sr=8-1I am not terribly concerned about having these titles unavailable for a while, either... scarcity can push demand, and this will give a good excuse for doing a 'back in stock' promotion when I'm back up to speed, possibly timed with early holiday sales.
The second anthology is still likely, but not a priority for me to organize right now. We'll see where things stand when I really get back into the swing of things.
Deirdre (Wyld_dandelyon) will be running the critters contest through February and March, and organizing the Muse Fusions for the next several months as well. (Thank you, Deirdre!) Please contact her with questions about these events.
Sea Monster month will still be held in May - please do submit work appropriate to this theme with plenty of time to get it through a sluggish review queue!
General updates of new material at the site may be more sporadic than usual, but they've been fairly dependent on canon board involvement, not my activity, so there may or may not be much of a change there... daily updates haven't been happening for a while now. I will probably not be nagging much, and may not be prompt at posting reviewed work.
The general idea you should go away with is:
No promises. I may find more time to write and administrate than I am expecting, and since Torn World remains one of the few projects I'm keeping open at all (or haven't delegated in full), it could be that I actually get more done and am more active here than I am currently. Or, I may disappear for big blocks of time. I reserve the right to be incredibly flaky.
If you've got issues you'd like to see handled before I (potentially) disappear for a while, please let me know asap! I will be updating the contact and staff pages to reflect the current situation, and do hope that things go smoothly during this time.
