(Show/Hide Browsing Column ->) Itrelir - Location Written By: Ellen Million (Writer) The largest of the Northern villages.     Location: Itrelir is located in the south-central area of the northern territory, in the foothills of the mountains. It is the closest village to the Mouth of the Mountain tunnel (Great Northern Gate), and also to the hot springs. A nearby landmark is Akovu's Crown, a distinctive triple-peaked mountain. It is significantly inland, and at a relatively high elevation; winters are dry and cold, even compared to the rest of the north. Population size: 1395 (previous to 1520), approximately 1895 after the Itadesh fire. History: The largest village in the north, and centrally located, Itrelir considers itself the hub of the snow-unicorn riders. Not only was it the first site of permanent dwellings after the Upheaval, it has also led the way in most of the northern innovations. Concrete was developed here, as was the very popular teal dye. Many of the original buildings have been replaced by this time, and more than half of them are now composed of concrete rather than wood. Itrelir's 'village beads' are made of ceramic.
