The Rainbow Tribes - Culture
Written By: Deirdre / Wyld_Dandelyon (Writer)
Purists tribes live within the Rainbow Rainforest, high in the trees.

The Mayaloi occupied the Rainbow Rainforest during the sundered times, however, they have no known purists (the initial interaction between the Empire and the Mayaloi captive and made them slaves, and although there are no more slaves in the Empire, the Mayaloi were not returned to their ancestral lands.) However, the Rainbow Rainforest is too well-suited to supporting an indigenous population to have remained free of purists. The first new occupants of the rainforest are believed to have been light-skinned deserters from the Roluma war. They used extensive tattooing to obscure their military rank tattoos and to serve as camouflage in the bright-colored forest, and they adopted a pseudo-military structure for their newly-banded “tribes”, each group choosing a color to be known by. This color is not only part of the group’s name, but also is used as a primary or accent color in a member’s tattoos. This practice has continued into the present day. The tribes have a tradition that they were met by a very few elderly Mayaloi, who taught them about the animals and plants of the rainforest, and also how to create and care for the reed trees. It is believed that it was these original deserters who expanded the use of wind-chimes as a tracking system for people on the paths.
