Thunder stones grow
in the Crystal Desert
where strange forces
flicker and twist.

Author's Notes

This poem came out of the October 2011 Muse Fusion. It was prompted by LJ user Haunted_blood who provided the title phrase. It may be sponsored for $5 OR 5 Torn World Credits.

Mineral formations can do some really weird things. There are boiling hot springs, acidic springs, deposits of pure caustic bases, flint and pyrite that strike sparks, hollow geodes, all kinds of stuff. Put together just the right combination, and BANG!
