Advice for a Young Carnal Guild Worker   poem
Supporters Only!
Creators: Deirdre / Wyld_Dandelyon (Writer), Lorna (Comtessa) (Other)
Although Olarali wrote this tune, she is no longer fond of it, so the novices in her House take joy in singing or humming it from time to time.

This story or poem is for logged in supporters only! Here is a short excerpt to whet your appetite:

The shoe shapes the ankle
And that shapes the calf
And makes the hip sway—
Now, girl, don't you laugh!

If you want lux' tokens
And customers fine
Shoes and clothes matter
You must look divine

So sit for that haircut
And buff your nails round
Practice your diction
And mind how you sound

The beauty inside you's
As mythic as haunts
The packaging is what
The customer wants!

--a young Olarali

Author's Notes

When it comes to fashion in Torn World, my thoughts turn to Olarali. So when the fashion-theme contest was announced, it seemed natural to write something from her point of view.

Notes: The poem/song is by me, and Comtessa and I worked together on the in-character history for it. The poem is public, the history is for supporters only.
