Small hands make quick workAuthor's Notes
of disassembling the village
and assembling the fleet.
The ramships and riggers
stand guard around the floating village,
ever vigilant against sea monsters.
A purple jellyrigger, swelled huge
with many plump bodies and tall sails,
drifts near and the ships veer off in respect.
Soon, the sailors know,
the storm season will tear it apart,
only the jellyrigger's scattered offspring surviving.
Their turn their eyes to the true monster --
a bank of purple clouds low on the horizon,
strange storm in a strange sky grumbling threats.
