Reflections of Water   poem
Creators: Ellen Million (Writer), Lorna (Comtessa) (Inspiration)
Water is like people...
Posted: 09/05/12      [No comments yet] ~ 91 words.

The water is an artist:
the lake reflecting mountains
and offering a glimpse of the viewer
distorted by fish ripples.

The water is a crafter:
the river weaving leaves,
and tangling logs in
unsteady patterns.

The water is a ranger:
the creek exploring meadows,
creeping through thickets,
and winding across fields.

The water is a builder:
the ocean beating at the shore,
eroding beaches and thrusting the tides
at the cliffs and fjords.

The water is an Elder:
the rain teaching patience,
and balance and hope,
melting snow in the spring.

Author's Notes

This was written during the July 2012 Muse Fusion, prompted by 'Leaf weaving.'
