The Widow-Keeper's Lullaby   Poem
Creators: Elizabeth Barrette (Writer), Ellen Million (Patron), Lorna (Comtessa) (Inspiration)
A widow-keeper sings to a pregnant woman.
Posted: 09/04/12      [No comments yet] ~ 63 words.

I will sing you songs of death
Keep you safe to your last breath

Though your mate is dead and gone
We are here to carry on

Let sea monsters be forewarned
Fresh hope springs from what was mourned

You and I will do our part
New life grows beneath your heart

I will sing you songs of life
Honored lost warsailor's wife

Author's Notes

This poem came out of the July 2012 Muse Fusion. It was inspired by a prompt from LJ user Haunted_blood. It may be sponsored for $2.50 or 3 Torn World credits.
