"Don't roll the steam engine down the stairs!" Mother says.
When I ask her why not, she gets a funny look,
and explains about 'grade' and how water in tanks has to be level,
or mostly level, with pictures and diagrams and math.

I still run the steam engine down the stairs when Mother's not looking.
