To Name a Reason   1520.02.08

Lenaroth and Lenarai discuss the nature of their names.
Posted: 02/03/10      [1 Comment] ~ 129 words.

Lenarai sat upon the floor in her comfortable position, cross-legged so that the swell of her belly was supported. In her hand she held the beautiful bead she had picked from the bowl after telling her tale at Oromaal's funeral. Her tale had been one of love, and how she was taught to forgive and to forget, that life was much more if only you opened your eyes to see it.

She didn't mean to pick this specific bead, she had hoped that fate would chose one for her when she dipped her hand into the bowl, but the very touch of the smooth ashaakarg drew her fingers around it and now she sat with the tiny pink baby resting upon her stomach that contained her own growing child.

Author's Notes

The motivation for this story was simple. Deirdre had approached me with the pondering on why Lenaroth and Lenarai's names were so similar. Reasons were passed back and forth and this story sprang to mind. After writing it, added details were put in about the bead and perhaps Lenarai's future and we were done!
