Sea Monsters Skipping Song   poem
Creators: Ellen Million (Writer)
A rhyme about the sea monsters of Torn World.
Posted: 10/29/14      [2 Comments] ~ 147 words.

Deathfin, deathfin,
fan along his back
Long, long, longer neck
Beware the death's attack!

Randy randy blimpfish,
With his eyes so poor
He thinks that your old boat
is a one-token whore.

Trapjaw, snap-jaw,
rows of razor teeth
He'll gladly ram your boat,
And drag you all beneath.

Fat, silly weed-eater
everything he'll munch,
Bumps aside a boat,
Eats anchor-rope for lunch.

Sea serpent, sea serpent,
pretty water snake,
spots you over ocean waves -
so flee for safety's sake!

Thunder-whale, thunder-whale
swimming all around
Cover up your ears;
he'll kill you with his sound!

Sea turtle, in his shell,
Drifts into a net,
he snaps towards the hapless ship;
they haven't found it yet.

Jellyrigger, jellyrigger,
Sails above and frills below,
wiggly, wiggly tentacles,
Its poison isn't slow.

Smartarm, smartarm
Eight long arms plus two
he'll tear your ship apart,
and eat you when he's through!

Author's Notes

This is a rope-skipping rhyme sung by older children in the southern parts of the Empire.
