Reqem and Imain travel through the dark tunnel.

This story or poem is for logged in supporters only! Here is a short excerpt to whet your appetite:

The tunnel was wider than four people laying head to toe, and just as high, with an oddly smooth floor that was the only reason they could walk in the dim light of one handlamp kept low to conserve their oil.

In the dark, their steps echoed like warnings, and their voices came back two- and three-fold.

"We're going to be in so much trouble," Imain said, several times.

"Trouble, trouble!" the echo agreed.

"We're adults now," Reqem reminded him. "What are they going to do?"
