She doodled a spider on a blank calling card, then passed it to the waiter with one of her smaller tokens and stood, smiling brightly at him. His eyes flitted from her face to the spider, and he stepped back to give her room, stumbling over a chair as he moved out of her way.Author's Notes
Reassured, she drifted decorously toward the door. It wasn't worth worrying about whether the politician really did have an emergency to deal with, or if his actions meant he wasn't ready to actually experience the flat of her hand, despite the carefully negotiated limits she was to observe. It wasn't the first time a customer got cold feet, and her leather outfit waited, unused, for another day.

Aliffifi turned, and smiled to see her friend, Ashegoi, waving from across the street. Ashegoi was tall, her porcelain-pale skin showing wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. The prompts that inspired this story were "discarded jewels" and "Does Olarali have a rival?" It's always interesting to write during the muse fusions, because I can't explain or predict the strange alchemy that combines two or more prompts into the inspiration for a new story.
